The packaging specialist takes a strategic forward step and extends its automation portfolio with these 7 axis cobots
Kranenburg am Niederrhein · Kastrup, Copenhagen 13 June 2018 ● From now on Project Group can also offer its customers packaging solutions using cobots. This SME, which is based in the lower Rhine town of Kranenburg in North Rhine-Westphalia, has concluded a strategic partnership agreement with the cobot manufacturer, Kassow Robots. Kassow Robots is a Danish start-up whose very experienced team of founders launches its products on the market for the first time at the Automatica automation exhibition in Munich on 19 - 22.6.2018. Project Group has specialised in the complete sector of final packaging, its servicing and the related peripheral fields (see https://project-ae.com/de/).
Johannes Jansen, Managing Director of Project Group stressed the strategic importance of the partnership for his company: "Each of the seven axes of the Kassow Robots have joint speeds of up to 225 degrees. With their combination of the high payload of up to 10 kilos and long reach they provide an exciting technical total package. The partnership is strategic for us. As a system integrator we can use them to extend our customer portfolio." The application opportunities for existing and new customers are multi-faceted. Interesting examples would be pick & place applications, palletising tasks and palette labelling as well as feeding manufacturing machinery or even their deployment in the co-packaging area.
Kassow Robots' cobots (see www.kassowrobots.com) with their seven axes and powerful motors are of particular interest to industrial customers who are looking for automation solutions which are both flexible and safe. Subject to a risk analysis, the collaborative robots of Kassow Robots need hardly any or even no special safety requirements. "This is a real plus for end-customers". The cobots are also simple to operate; companies do not need specialist robot engineers for this task.
"We are delighted that Project Group became the first system integrator for Kassow Robots at the beginning of this week. The strength and flexibility of our 7 axis cobots which match our motto "strong - fast - simple" offer completely new opportunities for man-machine cooperation," emphasise Kristian Kassow, CEO, and Dieter Pletscher, Sales Director. "Kassow Robots will exhibit the KR 810 (850mm reach / 10 kg payload ), KR 1205 (1200mm reach/ 5 kg payload) and KR 1805 (1800mm reach/ 5 kg payload) cobots on stand A420 in hall B4 at Automatica which will be held on 19-22 June 2018 in Munich. The first two models, the KR 810 and the KR 1205 are now entering production. The Danish start-up will have the next cobot, the KR 1805, ready for the end of 2018.

About Kassow Robots
Kassow Robots was founded in Copenhagen, Denmark in 2014 with the mission of developing unique and efficient 7-axis lightweight robots for industrial applications. The company’s motto is “strong, fast, simple”. Its products offer speed and power, yet also have a long reach. The robots’ user-friendliness provides businesses with greater flexibility, allowing SMEs without their own robotics specialists to achieve complex automation and programming cost-effectively and independently. What is more, the cobots are compact enough for use in confined spaces. Two seasoned robotics experts – Kristian Kassow as CEO and Dieter Pletscher as Head of Sales – are driving the company’s development. The start-up already has ten employees and is launching its products in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Scandinavia and the Benelux countries in June 2018. Only a fews days after market launch, the company signed an agreement with its first system integrator for sales to industrial end customers, the packaging specialist Project Group.
