Nooordhoek – grated cheese: Put the bag on the pallet
For Noordhoek Geraspte Kaas, a Dutch manufacturer of grated cheese, project A&E has realized a complete packaging line, the PROPAC R110 with downstream palletizer PROPAL S220 R10. To ensure a smooth process, the system must be able to detect the location of the plastic bags of different sizes, evenly distribute the cheese inside the cartons, and finally weigh the carton, mark it by barcode and palletize it.
Due to the contents, grated cheese, the shape of the bag may vary. In order to safely handle the plastic bags, which differ in size and weight, an intermediate step was required in which the packaged goods were prepared for further processing.
The system is divided into three lines, so that up to three different products can be packed in parallel. Depending on the product, the PROPAC R110 can be supplied with cartons or plastic boxes of various sizes. Leveler conveyor segments shake the plastic bags before packing; In this way any clumping is resolved. A camera then records the position of the plastic bag and transmits the position to the PROPAC R110. This calculates the pickup position for an orderly placement of the plastic bags in the carton or the plastic box. The weight of the closed carton is checked on the way to the palletizer PROPAL S220 R10 by means of a continuous scale. Subsequently, the goods are palletized. For optimal utilization of the palletizer, the boxes are formed in rows and prepared for the situation, which is then placed on the pallet.
